न जाने क्यों आज अपना ही घर मुझे अनजान सा लगता है,    
माँ तेरे जाने के बाद ये घर-घर नहीं खाली मकान सा लगता है।

माँ ना होती तो वफ़ा कौन करेगा,
ममता का हक़ भी कौन अदा करेगा,
रब हर एक माँ को सलामत रखना,
वरना हमारे लिए दुआ कौन करेगा !

कौन सी है वो चीज़ जो यहाँ नहीं मिलती,
सब कुछ मिल जाता है लेकिन “माँ” नहीं मिलती…
माँ-बाप ऐसे होते हैं दोस्तों जो ज़िन्दगी में फिर नहीं मिलते,
खुश रखा करो उनको फिर देखो जन्नत कहाँ नहीं मिलती !

रूह के रिश्तों की ये गहराइयाँ तो देखिये,
चोट लगती है हमें और चिल्लाती है माँ,
हम खुशियों में माँ को भले ही भूल जायें,
जब मुसीबत आ जाए तो याद आती है माँ !

ये जो सख्त रस्तो पे भी आसान सफ़र लगता है
ये मुझ को माँ की दुआओ का असर लगता है
एक मुद्दत हुई मेरी माँ नहीं सोई तबिश …
मैंने एक बार कहा था के मुझे डर लगता है !

हमारे कुछ गुनाहों की सज़ा भी साथ चलती है,
हम अब तन्हा नहीं चलते दवा भी साथ चलती है,
अभी ज़िन्दा है माँ मेरी मुझे कुछ भी नहीं होगा,
मैं जब घर से निकलता हूँ दुआ भी साथ चलती है !

सबकुछ मिल जाता है दुनिया में मगर,
याद रखना की बस माँ-बाप नहीं मिलते,
मुरझा कर जो गिर गए एक बार डाली से,
ये ऐसे फूल हैं जो फिर नहीं खिलते !

हजारो फूल चाहिए एक माला बनाने के लिए,
हजारों दीपक चाहिए एक आरती सजाने के लिए
हजारों बून्द चाहिए समुद्र बनाने के लिए,
पर “माँ “अकेली ही काफी है,
बच्चो की जिन्दगी को स्वर्ग बनाने के लिए !

किसी भी मुश्किल का अब किसी को हल नहीं मिलता,
शायद अब घर से कोई माँ के पैर छूकर नहीं निकलता !
